An example run. The agencies, policies and figures are invented — what's real is how each line is treated.

What it does

Three statements a month or thirty, the job is the same: put the carrier's version next to yours and find where they differ.

Whatever your carrier sends

PDF, Excel or CSV, in whatever layout the carrier happens to use this month. Lines we can read are matched against your book. Lines we can't are sent to a review queue as blanks — never filled in with a guess.

A clock on every discrepancy

Your agreement with each carrier gives you a window to raise a discrepancy. Set that window once per carrier and every short pay and unpaid policy carries the days it has left, counting down.

Nothing to connect

No API keys, no carrier portal passwords, no hooks into your management system. You export your book the way you already export it, and upload the statements the carrier already emails you.

We never touch your management system

Plenty of things in this category ask for credentials — to your management system, to your carrier portals, or both. We don't ask for either, because there is nothing here that could use them.

You export your book of business the way you already export it, and you upload the statements the carrier already emails you. Everything after that happens on the files you handed over, and only those.

This is the constraint the product was designed around, not a gap we mean to close later.

Never lose a commission to a deadline

Most agency agreements let a carrier keep a discrepancy that isn't raised inside the dispute window. A list of what you're owed is a report; a list with four days left on it is a calendar obligation.

Inside seven days a window gets the only filled badge in the product. Everything else stays quiet so that one keeps meaning something.

Questions

What do I actually have to upload?

Two things. A book of business export — the CSV or Excel file your management system already produces — and the commission statements your carriers send you.

You map your book's columns once, on the first import. After that the same export drops straight in.

Do you connect to my agency management system?

No, and this is not a feature waiting on the roadmap. There is no part of this product that reads from another system, holds a credential, or opens a connection to a carrier. The only input is a file you upload.

It is the constraint the product is built around rather than a gap in it, and it is not going to change.

What does it find?

Every line lands in one of six buckets: matched, short paid, overpaid, not paid, not in your book, or paid twice. The two that are money you're owed — short paid and not paid — carry a dispute deadline and add up to one figure.

The other four are shown and deliberately kept out of that figure. A commission taken back on a cancelled policy is a legitimate transaction, not a discrepancy, and a commission paid twice is money likely to be clawed back rather than money owed.

Where do the dispute deadlines come from?

From your carrier agreements. You set the window per carrier in settings — 30, 60, 90 days, or whatever yours says — and the countdown runs from the statement's period. We don't invent a window for a carrier you haven't configured; that column shows an em dash and offers to let you set one.

What happens when a number can't be read?

It stays empty. A field nobody could read shows as an em dash and goes to the review queue — it never becomes a zero, and you never see a confidence score next to it. A confidently wrong total costs more trust than an honest “twelve lines need your eyes”, and it costs it permanently.

Can I send the result to the carrier?

Yes — Recover and Agency export a dispute packet as CSV and PDF, with the policy numbers, what your book expected, what the statement paid, and the reason for each line. Reconcile exports CSV so you can work from the same figures.
